One detail worth knowing when you compare: UTS announced on 9 October 2025 that it is 7th in Australia in THE 2026 at 145th globally, while the THE list of Australian universities places it 8th nationally at the same global position. The global figure is agreed; the difference is in how the national order is read.

Is UTS still Australia’s top young university?

That description has a date on it. UTS announced on 14 May 2024 that it was named Australia’s top university under 50 years old in the THE Young University Rankings 2024, for the fourth year running, and 11th in the world in the same ranking.
