How to Apply to Study in Australia with KD: Steps to Your Seat

Your journey with KD International runs through eight steps: a free consultation, choosing your major and university, preparing documents, applying and waiting for the offer, accepting the offer and receiving your Confirmation of Enrolment, the visa, housing, and pre-departure. Universities take weeks to respond, and the visa is lodged only after enrolment. Here is what happens at each step and what we need from you.

What are the steps from consultation to your seat?

1. A free consultation to set your path: Saudi scholarship or self-funded, and which level of study.
2. Choosing your major and a university recognised by the Saudi Ministry of Education.
3. Preparing documents: certified transcripts, English evidence and certified translations.
4. Applying to the university and waiting for the Letter of Offer.
5. Accepting the offer, paying what is due, and receiving the Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
6. For scholarship students: approval of the admission on the Qabool platform and registration with the Saudi Cultural Mission.
7. Health cover and the Student visa (subclass 500) application.
8. Housing and pre-departure arrangements.

KD describes itself as the first intermediary between Saudi students and Australian universities, with offices in Riyadh and Sydney, and states that its admission service is free for students applying to scholarship-programme majors at universities recognised by the Ministry of Education, as it announced in a post on X in August 2021.

Steps 1 and 2: consultation and choosing a university

You start by completing the application form or messaging the office on. In the consultation, the adviser settles with you whether you are a scholarship student or self-funded, and which level you need: English, a pathway programme, a bachelor’s or postgraduate study. The adviser then shortlists universities that accept your major and grades.

The Australian Government recommends the same order: explore the field and its career path, check the academic and English entry requirements, then apply, according to the how-to-apply guide on Study Australia. Make sure the institution and course are listed on the CRICOS register, the official register of every Australian provider allowed to teach student-visa holders. If your grades or English are not enough for direct entry, KD has partnerships with pathway providers (Navitas and Study Group) and English colleges (LSI and ILSC), and can recommend a foundation or English programme before the degree.

Step 3: which documents do you need?

According to the process page on the KD site, your application usually includes certified academic records, any programme-specific requirements, and proof of English proficiency if your previous study was not in English. In practice, prepare:

• A valid passport.
• Your high-school or bachelor’s certificate with the academic transcript, certified.
• A valid IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result, or a plan to sit the test.
• Certified translations of Arabic documents; KD provides translation certified by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI).

Step 4: applying and waiting for the offer

Once you apply, the university assesses your application, which "can take a few weeks (or longer for postgraduate courses)", according to Study Australia. The offer then arrives in one of two forms, as the process page explains:

The offer letter states the fee required to secure your place. If you are sponsored, confirm your proof of funding before accepting so the sponsorship details are correct, according to the same page.

Step 5: accepting the offer and the CoE

After you accept online, the amount due is calculated according to your choice of Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), and the university issues your Confirmation of Enrolment. The CoE is what the Department of Home Affairs needs before the visa: "You will need to enrol in a course at an Australian education or training provider first", according to the visa guide on Study Australia. OSHC is a visa condition for your whole stay, according to the Australian Government, and is bought from one of six registered insurers, according to Study Australia.

Step 6: scholarship students — approval on the Qabool platform

If you are on a Saudi scholarship, the Ministry of Education approves your admission through the "Apply for scholarship" service on the Qabool platform (منصة قبول) using Nafath single sign-on. It requires a valid national ID, a passport valid for at least one year, a certified graduation certificate and transcript, and degree equivalency if the qualification is from outside Saudi Arabia, according to the Ministry of Education. The Ministry requires a direct, unconditional offer from a recognised university and full-time study. Once you arrive, the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission in Australia is your reference for academic and financial matters, and its student clubs will welcome you in your city.

Step 7: the student visa — what you need to know

KD provides visa guidance; the decision rests with the Department of Home Affairs. The main requirements:

• Financial capacity: living costs of AUD 29,710 for 12 months, plus course fees and travel, according to the Student visa page as at 1 July 2026. Scholarship students provide a financial guarantee letter instead of bank statements.
• The Genuine Student (GS) requirement: questions inside the form about your circumstances, why this course and this provider, and how it benefits you, limited to 150 words per answer and in English, applying to applications lodged on or after 23 March 2024, according to Home Affairs. Answers backed by documents carry more weight.
• Visa application charge: AUD 2,500 for applications lodged from 1 July 2026, according to Study Australia on 3 July 2026.
• Priority: students on foreign government scholarships, which includes Saudi scholarship holders, fall under Priority 1 for processing under Ministerial Direction 115 for applications lodged on or after 14 November 2025, according to the processing priorities page.

Step 8: housing and pre-departure

KD helps with accommodation and partners with Scape student accommodation; fee instalments can be arranged through its partner Jeel Pay. Before you fly, keep copies of your CoE, insurance policy and offer letter, book housing for at least the first weeks, and register with the Saudi student club in your city. If you plan to bring your family, add the AUD 10,394 accompanying-partner amount to your financial evidence, according to Home Affairs as at 1 July 2026, and start school enrolment for children early because it runs in parallel with the visa.

The practical rule: start at least six months before your target intake, because the English test, document certification, admission and visa happen in sequence, not in parallel.
